The Memorial:
In 1981, a state commission selected the New Jersey Fire Museum at Allaire as the location for a permanent Fallen Firefighter Memorial but the legislature did not provide construction funds.  The Board Of Directors of the Fire Museum has included the memorial in our Phase One construction fund drive.  The memorial will be located on the fire museum's main entrance plaza.

Primary Features:
The memorial will consist of two primary features:  The circular design will have spaces for four engraved panels depicting firefighting of the past, present and future.  Flanking these engraved panels will be stone work engraved with the names, date of loss, and hometown of fallen New Jersey firefighters.

Location:
The memorial will be located on Atlantic Avenue, Route 524, Wall Township, across the street from Allaire State Park in Monmouth County.  This location is central to the state and easily accessible from Exit 98 of the Garden State Parkway or Exit 34B of I-195.  Allaire State Park is best known for historic Allaire Village and the Pine Creek narrow gauge operating railroad.  The immediate area includes the Jersey Shore oceanfront providing a variety of year round recreational activities enjoyed by groups of all ages.  Construction and opening date are dependent upon fund-raising success.

You can participate:
You can help by purchasing a paver or T-shirt, or by attending one of our fundraising events.  Details can be found elsewhere on this website.
